WCW didn't produce the original song. WWE likes owning the rights to whatever songs they have. Copyright is tricky with music. If you sample or use it without the rights to it that's a violation. If you replay it with minor changes it's not.

It boils down to what rights you have with each song. No two cases are the same either. WWE has had the rights to 'Cult of Personality' to the point that they can even put it on video games, but they've had to edit out the uses of 'Ain't No Grave' for Undertaker.
